Sign up for EmberSignals using your email address. We'll send you a magic link for secure, password-free authentication.

Creating Your First Alert

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Choose a Stock Ticker: Enter any valid stock symbol (e.g., AAPL, SPY, TSLA)
  2. Select Direction:
    • Below (Oversold): Alert when RSI drops below your threshold
    • Above (Overbought): Alert when RSI rises above your threshold
  3. Set RSI Threshold: Choose a value between 0-100 (common: 30 for oversold, 70 for overbought)
  4. Choose Timeframe:
    • 5 minutes: Very short-term signals
    • 15 minutes: Short-term signals
    • 1 day: Daily signals (most common)
  5. Click "Create Alert" to activate monitoring

Example Setups

Oversold Setup

  • Ticker: SPY
  • Direction: Below
  • Threshold: 30
  • Timeframe: 1 day

Alerts when SPY becomes oversold (potential buying opportunity)

Overbought Setup

  • Ticker: AAPL
  • Direction: Above
  • Threshold: 70
  • Timeframe: 1 day

Understanding RSI (Relative Strength Index)

What is RSI?

RSI is a momentum oscillator that measures the speed and change of price movements. It ranges from 0 to 100 and helps identify overbought or oversold conditions.

How to Interpret RSI

RSI Calculation

EmberSignals uses the standard 14-period RSI calculation with Wilder's smoothing method. Our data comes from Yahoo Finance, providing real-time market information.

Note: RSI values may differ slightly between platforms due to data source timing, calculation methods, or historical data ranges. This is normal and doesn't affect the accuracy of our signals.

Managing Your Subscription

Upgrading to Pro

  1. Click the "Upgrade" button in your dashboard
  2. Choose between monthly ($9.97/month) or yearly plans
  3. Complete secure payment through Stripe
  4. Enjoy unlimited alerts immediately

Canceling Your Subscription

  1. Go to your dashboard settings
  2. Click "Manage Subscription"
  3. Select "Cancel Subscription"
  4. Confirm cancellation

Important: You'll continue to have Pro access until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months.

Billing and Payments

  • All payments are processed securely through Stripe
  • We accept all major credit cards
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled
  • You'll receive email receipts for all payments
  • Update payment methods anytime in your dashboard

Troubleshooting

Not Receiving Alerts?

  1. Check Spam Folder: Alerts might be filtered by your email provider
  2. Verify Alert Settings: Ensure your alert is active and properly configured
  3. Check Conditions: The stock might not have met your RSI threshold yet
  4. Whitelist Our Email: Add support@embersignals.com to your contacts

Magic Link Not Working?

  • Check that you're using the most recent link
  • Links expire after 1 hour for security
  • Try requesting a new magic link
  • Ensure you're clicking from the same device/browser

Alert Delays

Alerts are typically sent within 5-10 minutes of conditions being met. Delays can occur due to:

  • High market volatility
  • Email provider delays
  • Temporary data source issues

Dashboard Loading Issues

  • Try refreshing the page
  • Clear your browser cache
  • Disable browser extensions temporarily
  • Try a different browser or incognito mode

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I set alerts for any stock?

Yes! You can create alerts for any publicly traded stock that's available on Yahoo Finance. This includes stocks, ETFs, and most international securities.

How accurate are the RSI calculations?

We use the standard 14-period RSI formula with real-time data from Yahoo Finance. Our calculations are mathematically accurate, though values may differ slightly from other platforms due to data timing and sources.

Can I modify existing alerts?

Currently, you need to delete and recreate alerts to change their settings. We're working on an edit feature for future updates.

Do you offer moving average alerts?

Currently, we focus exclusively on RSI signals. Moving average features may be added in future updates based on user demand.

Is there an API available?

We don't currently offer a public API, but it's on our roadmap. Contact us if you have specific integration needs.

Can I get SMS alerts instead of email?

Currently, we only support email alerts. SMS functionality may be added in future updates.

How do I export my alert history?

Pro subscribers can export their alert history from the dashboard. Look for the "Export History" button in the alerts section.

What happens if I downgrade to free?

If you have more than 3 alerts when downgrading, the oldest alerts will be automatically paused. You can reactivate them by upgrading again.

While we don't offer a full public API yet, these endpoints are available for testing and integration purposes:

GET /api/stock-data

Get real-time stock data and RSI calculation for a ticker

Parameters:
  • ticker - Stock symbol (required)

Check system status and health
